One of the most rewarding things in the Bluebell Cottage fudge & nougat kitchen is the final result, when we create a new treat. Items such as the Cadburys Creme Egg fudge & Mini Eggs fudge really make all the hard work worthwhile. Sometimes though, the simplest things are the best. We have been making traditional clotted cream fudge for a long time now and it still remains one of our most popular products. A lot of our customers return time and time again for these staples of our range and it was this reason that we decided to enter the 2021 Foodie awards late last year. This week we were very excited to discover that we have been nominated as a finalist in the 'Artisan Food Creator' Category. The final judging will take place in July before the food event that is a part of the Coventry city of Culture program. We will bring some more details regarding this a little closer to the time.
New Nougat & confectionery products
As we head in to Spring and the Bluebell Cottage garden starts to wake up with green shoots and a little bit of colour, we like to put our thinking caps on for new products. We are currently working on 2 new, limited edition, nougats, which we will launch in the coming weeks as well as a new confectionery, but we will save these for a later post.
We have improved our honeycomb by dipping it in chocolate before bagging it for you. Our previous honeycomb, although lovely, was losing its crispness too quickly because of the air it was experiencing. Dipping it in chocolate is keeping that lovely texture nice & fresh, which is perfect.
We have also added a new nougat to our regular range. Fans of Bluebell Cottage nougat will know that one of our soft nougat bars is a lemon drizzle nougat. This has always been very popular, but we had never actually made it available in our nougat gift bags. We are now pleased to announce that our lemon drizzle nougat gift bags are now ready to purchase and complement the assorted nut nougat and cherry & nut nougat.
Our 5-bar nougat gift bag is also now back available. Last Christmas this proved very popular. A bar each of assorted nut nougat, cherry & nut nougat, lemon drizzle nougat, mint chocolate & nut nougat and coffee & nut nougat, all in a lovely natural finish hessian sack that can be reused afterwards. This really does make a lovely present for someone. We envisage this to be a regular product on our website.
Stratford upon Avon Market
With the easing of restrictions planned for April, we have been informed that our regular Saturday 'Rother Street market' & Sunday 'Waterside' market should be back on again. Hopefully we will be in a similar position on the market but needless to say, if it's on, you'll find us there. It would be lovely to see some familiar faces, so why not pop down and say hello. It will be nice to get some fresh air again. In the meantime, take care everyone & we will see you soon.
